Abstract

U ovom je radu opisana primjena polimernih materijala u stomatologiji. Polimerni materijali široko su zastupljeni kao materijali za punjenje korijenskog kanala, za otiske, privremene krunice i mostove te za izradu proteza i implantata. Najčešće upotrebljavani materijali su na bazi poli(metil-metakrilata), PMMA, gdje polimeri čine organsku matricu u kompozitnim materijalima, a punila su anorganska. Također, opisana je primjena polimernih materijala u fiksnoj i mobilnoj protetici. Navedeni su najčešći materijali koji se koriste za otiske i ispune te njihova svojstva. Najvažnija svojstva koja polimerni materijal za primjenu mora zadovoljavati su biokompatibilnost, netoksičnost, postojanost i abrazijska otpornost. Nadalje, u ovom je radu opisana degradacija polimernih materijala ovisno o pH sredini u kojoj se polimerni materijal nalazi.

Abstract (english)

This work studies the application of polymer materials in dentistry. Polymer materials are used really frequently and these materials are used for filling the root canal, prints, temporary dental crowns and bridges. Moreover, they are applied for constructing the dentures and dental implants. The most widely used material is poly(methyl methacrylate), PMMA, where polymer particles form the organic matrix of composites while the fillers are inorganic. This work studies the application of polymer materials in fixed and mobile prosthetics. Furthermore, the most common prints and fillers are presented and described. The most significant properties for dental polymers are biocompatibility, no-toxicity, stability and abrasive resistance. In conclusion, in this work the degradation of polymer materials is demonstrated, depending on pH and its behavior.
