Abstract

Plastika se nalazi u gotovo svakom proizvodu, kao njen sastavni dio ili kao dio pakiranja. Sve veći ekonomski rast i porast populacije dovode do povećane proizvodnje plastike, koja na kraju završava kao otpad, stoga se intenzivno radi na pronalasku adekvatne metode za zabrinjavanje tog otpada. Plastični otpad može se obraditi pirolizom, čime se dobivaju kapljevito ulje, plinovita frakcija i čađa. Kapljevito ulje ima veliki potencijal da se koristi kao alternativni izvor energije, no prije korištenja kao transportnog goriva potrebno ga je pročistiti. Jedan od načina pročišćavanja je proces ekstrakcije uz pomoć niskotemperaturnih eutektičkih otapala. U ovom radu provodila se ekstrakcija uz pomoć tri niskotemperaturna eutektička otapala – dva na bazi kolin klorida i jedan na bazi kalijeva karbonata. Istražen je utjecaj masenog omjera otapala i ulja pri različitim vremenima trajanja procesa te broja stupnjeva ekstrakcije na učinkovitost redukcije kiselinskog broja sirovine. Na kraju je istražena i mogućnost višestrukog korištenja otapala.

Abstract (english)

Plastic can be found in almost every product, either as its main component or as the part of the packaging. Economic and population growth have led to an increased plastic production, which eventually ends up as waste. Therefore, an adequate method for waste disposal is being worked on. Plastic waste can be processed by pyrolysis, and the products of that process are liquid oil, gas and char. Waste plastic oil has a great potential to be used as an alternative energy source, but it has to be purified before being used as transport fuel. One way of purification is extraction with deep eutectic solvents. In this thesis three deep eutectic solvent have been used - two based on choline chloride, and one based on potassium carbonate. The influence of the mass ratio of solvent and oil, extraction time and number of extraction stages were researched in order to determine the efficiency of reducing the raw material’s total acid number. Finally, the possibility of multiple use of the same solvent was researched.
