Abstract

Lišće masline, jedne od najrasprostranjenijih biljaka Mediterana, bogato je različitim bioaktivnim komponentama. Jedni od značajnijih bioaktivnih komponenata prisutnih u lišću su polifenolni spojevi. Polifenolni spojevi pokazuju potencijalno dobar učinak na ljudsko zdravlje zbog antioksidativnih, protuupalnih, antialergenih, antivirusnih, analgetskih i antipiretskih svojstva zbog čega se istražuje njihova primjena u kozmetičke, medicinske i prehrambene svrhe. U ovom radu ispitana je mogućnost pripreme ekstrakta lista masline za kozmetičku primjenu. Polifenolni spojevi ekstrahirani su iz lišća masline korištenjem otapala MLI:PEG 1:2. Ispitan je utjecaj vode u otapalu na djelotvornost ekstrakcije te je određeno optimalno vrijeme procesa. Također, određena je mikrobiološka aktivnost ekstrakta.

Abstract (english)

Olive tree leaves, part of the most common plant in Mediterranean area, is rich in different bioactive components. One of the most important bioactive components present in Olive tree leaves are polyphenolic compounds. Polyphenolic compounds show potentialy good effects on human health due to antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, antiviral, analgesic and antipyretic properties. For these reasons, their use for cosmetic, medical and food purposes is being investigated In this paper, the possibility of preparing olive leaf extract for cosmetic use was investigated. Polyphenolic compounds from olive leaves were extracted using a solvent MLI: PEG 1: 2. Influence of the water in the solvent on the extraction efficiency and optimal process time were determinated. Furthermore, the microbiological activity of the extract was determined.
