Abstract

U ovom radu konstruirani su simetrični elektrokemijski dvoslojni kondenzatori s ugljikovim elektrodama u dva različita organska elektolita: tetrabutilamonijevom heksafluorofosfatom (Bu4NPF6) i tetraetilamonijevom heksafluorofosfatom (Et4NPF6) u acetonitrilu. Superkondenzatori su testirani metodama kronopotenciometrije, cikličkom voltametrijom te elektrokemijskom impedancijskom spektroskopijom. Korištenje platinske referentne elektrode omogućilo je usporedbu razlika u odzivu individualnih elektroda te razlike pojedinih elektroda u odnosu na odziv cijelog superkondenzatora. Rezultati su pokazali da su mjerenja impedancijske spektroskopije osjetljiva na prisutnost referentne elektrode, dok isto nije utjecalo na cikličku voltametriju te kronopotenciometriju. Istraživanjem se potvrdilo da se specifični kapaciteti superkondenzatora kontinuirano smanjuju tijekom uzastopnih ciklusa. Veći specifični kapacitet ima superkondenzator s Et4NPF6 elektrolitom jer je njegov kation manjeg ionskog radijusa te stoga lakše i dublje prodire u pore elektrode.

Abstract (english)

In this work, symmetrical double-layer electrochemical capacitors with carbon electrodes in two different organic electrolytes: tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (Bu4NPF6) and tetraethylammonium hexafluorophosphate (Et4NPF6) in acetonitrile, were constructed. Supercapacitors were tested by chronopotentiometry, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Using a platinum reference electrode it was possible to compare the differences in the response of individual electrodes, and the differences of individual electrodes in relation to the response of the entire supercapacitor. The results showed that impedance spectroscopy measurements were sensitive to the presence of a reference electrode, while the same did not affect cyclic voltammetry and chronopotentiometry. Research has confirmed that the specific capacities of supercapacitors continuously decrease over successive cycles. The supercapacitor with Et4NPF6 electrolyte has a higher specific capacity because its cation has a smaller ionic radius and therefore penetrates easier and deeper into the pores of the electrode.
