Abstract

Mikroplastika i pesticidi imaju štetan utjecaj na okoliš. Koncentracija mikroplastike u vodenom okolišu rast će u nadolazećim godinama, uglavnom kao posljedica povećane proizvodnje plastike, lošeg upravljanja plastičnim otpadom, priljevom mikrogranula iz industrije i proizvoda široke potrošnje putem otpadnih voda i razgradnje velikog plastičnog otpada. Zbog svoje hidrofobne površine, mikroplastika može adsorbirati i koncentrirati hidrofobna organska onečišćivala. Smanjenjem primjene pesticida smanjuje se i rizik za okoliš, no unatoč navedenom postoji zabrinutost zbog štetnih ekoloških učinaka uslijed njegove bioakumulacije. Ekološki učinci mogu biti dugotrajne ili kratkotrajne promjene u normalnom funkcioniranju ekosustava. U ovom radu prikazan je pregled dosadašnjih istraživanja utjecaja mikroplastike i pesticida od njihovog ulaska u okoliš, mogućih rizika, pa sve do njihovog uklanjanja.

Abstract (english)

Microplastics and pesticides have harmful effects on the environment. In the coming years, the concentration of microplastics in the aquatic environment will increase , mainly as a result of increased plastic production, poor plastic waste management, inflow of microbeads from industry and consumer products through wastewater and decomposition of large plastic waste.. Due to their hydrophobic surface, microplastics can adsorb and concentrate hydrophobic organic contaminants. Reducing the use of pesticides reduces the risk to the environment, but there is some concern about the adverse ecological effects of pesticides due to their bioaccumulation. Ecological effects can be long-term or short-lived changes in the normal functioning of an ecosystem. This work shows research done to this date on the effects of microplastics and pesticides, from their entry into the environment to their potential risks and removal.
