Abstract

U modernoj poljoprivrednoj proizvodnji herbicidi se koriste kao revolucionarno sredstvo za suzbijanje korova. Posljednjih 70 godina njihova upotreba se u svijetu povećala eksponencijalno, jer pružaju jednostavan, učinkovit i isplativ način suzbijanja korova u usporedbi s alternativnim metodama koje su zamijenili. Međutim, velika upotreba herbicida dovela je do zabrinutosti zbog onečišćenja okoliša i izloženosti ljudi herbicidima u hrani, vodi i zraku. U ovome radu su prikazane karakteristike i podjele herbicida, mehanizmi djelovanja i načini razgradnje te utjecaji herbicida na tlo, vode i ljude. Prema utrošenim količinama izdvajaju se četiri kemijske skupine koje čine 72,7 % ukupno utrošene količine herbicida u RH čime se mogu smatrati potencijalno opasnim tvarima za okoliš.

Abstract (english)

In modern agricultural production, herbicides are used as a revolutionary means of weed control. Over the last 70 years, their use has increased exponentially worldwide as they provide a simple, effective and cost-effective way to control weeds compared to the alternative methods they have replaced. However, the high use of herbicides has led to concerns about environmental pollution and human exposure to herbicides in food, water and air. In this paper are presented characteristics and division of herbicides, mechanisms of action and modes of degradation, and the effects of the herbicide on the soil, water and humans. According to the quantities consumed, four chemical groups are distinguished, which make up 72.7% of the total amount of herbicides consumed in the Republic of Croatia, which can be considered as potentially dangerous substances for the environment.
