Abstract

U radu je dan teorijski i literaturni pregled istraživanja različitih postupaka izdvajanja hitina iz otpadnih oklopa rakova te je analizirana učinkovitost procesa kao i njegov utjecaj na svojstva hitina/kitozana, rezultati istraživanja preuzeti su iz referenci navedenih u Metodici. [17, 18] Kemijski proces izdvajanja hitina iz otpadnih oklopa školjki je vrlo učinkovit i ekonomski opravdan. No, nedostatak mu je to što sadrži toksične nusprodukte na kraju procesa, koje je neophodno zbrinuti, čime sam proces poskupljuje. Iz literature je vidljivo da tako izdvojeni hitin i njegovi derivati kitozana imaju vrlo dobra svojstva i stabilni su te su prikladni za primjenu u medicini, gdje su posebno visoki zahtjevi za stabilnost i zdravstvenu ispravnost biopolimera. Provedeno je i istraživanje izdvajanja hitina iz oklopa jastoga biokemijskim procesima uz primjenu nekoliko različitih kultura (Bacillus megaterium NH21, Serratia marcescens db11 Lactobacillus plantarum i Serratia marcescens db11), kao biokatalizatora. Provedeni su procesi izdvajanja sa svakom zasebnom kulturom i s njihovim mješavinama. Proces deproteinizacije i demineralizacije posebno se pokazao učinkovit uz primjenu ovih dviju kultura u kombinaciji; Serratia marcescens db11 i Lactobacillus plantarum. Rezultati ukazuju da je pritome došlo do uklanjanja CaCO3 (89,59%) i uklanjanja proteina (87,19%) te je prinos hitina iznosio 82,56% iz otpadnih oklopa jastoga.

Abstract (english)

The paper presents a theoretical and literature review of research on different procedures for the chitin separation from food waste shells and the impact of the type of process on the properties of chitin/chitosan, the results are take over from references presented in the Methodology. [17, 18] The chemical extraction process of chitin from the food waste shells is very efficient and economically justified. Its disadvantage is production of toxic byproducts at the end of the process, which must be treated before disposal, which makes the process become more expensive. It can be seen from the literature that the chitin and its chitosan derivatives thus isolated have very good properties and are stable and suitable for use in medicine, where the requirements for the stability and health safety of biopolymers are particularly high. Research on the separation of chitin from lobster shells by biochemical processes using several different microbial cultures (Bacillus megaterium NH21, Serratia marcescens db11 Lactobacillus plantarum i Serratia marcescens db11) as a biocatalyst was also performed. Extraction processes were carried out with each separate microbial culture and with their mixtures. The process of deproteinization and demineralization has been particularly efficient with the application of these two cultures in combination; Serratia marcescens db11 and Lactobacillus plantarum. The results indicate that CaCO3 (89,59%) and protein (87,19%) were removed and the chitin yield was 82,56% from lobster shells.
