Abstract

Onečišćenje vode je jedan od glavnih ekoloških problema današnjice. Industrijske otpadne vode često sadrže štetne onečišćujuće tvari te kao takve predstavljaju potencijalnu opasnost za okoliš. Zbog povećane potrošnje i proizvodnje lijekova unazad nekoliko desetljeća, otpadne vode iz farmaceutske industrije imaju sve značajniji utjecaj na okoliš i ljudsko zdravlje. U svrhu sprječavanja štetnih posljedica, propisuju se sve stroži zakonski propisi o dopuštenim emisijama onečišćujućih tvari u otpadnim vodama. Kako bi se ti zahtjevi ispunili, primjenjuju se različite vrste obrada kao što su biološki, fizikalno-kemijski i napredni oksidacijski te kombinirani postupci obrade. Odabir procesa i redoslijed postupaka obrade koji će se koristiti ovisi o karakteristikama onečišćujuće tvari, odnosno sastavu otpadne vode. U općem dijelu rada opisani su temeljni pojmovi vezani za temu industrijskih otpadnih voda i farmaceutsku industriju, dok su u preglednom dijelu rada opisani najzastupljeniji postupci obrade otpadnih voda iz farmaceutske industrije.

Abstract (english)

Water pollution is one of the major environmental problems nowadays. Industrial wastewater often contains harmful contaminants and as such poses a potential environmental hazard. Due to increased consumption and production of pharmaceuticals over the last few decades, wastewater from the pharmaceutical industry has an increasing impact on the environment and human health. In order to prevent harmful effects, stricter regulations are being established on the permitted emissions of contaminants in wastewater. In order to meet these requirements, various treatments such as biological, physico-chemical, advanced oxidation and hybrid processes are being applied. The selection of the process and the sequence of treatment operations that will be used depend on the characteristics of the contaminant and the wastewater. The general part of the thesis describes the basic concepts related to the topic of industrial wastewater and the pharmaceutical industry, while in the review part the most common methods of wastewater treatment for the pharmaceutical industry are described.
