Abstract

Zadatak ovog rada bio je provesti redukciju grafen-oksida (GO) u reducirani grafen-oksid (rGO). Korištene su tri različite metode, kemijska redukcija hidrazinom i dvije hidrotermalne metode redukcije u lužnatim uvjetima te tioacetamidom (TAA). Karakterizacija dobivenog reduciranog grafen-oksida (rGO) provedena je dvjema metodama, infracrvenom spektroskopijom s Fourierovim transformacijama (FTIR) te elektronskom mikroskopijom. FTIR metodom pokazana je jasna razlika između grafen-oksida i reduciranog grafen-oksida. Uzorci reduciranog grafen-oksida sadrže znatno manje funkcionalnih skupina u odnosu na uzorak grafen-oksida korištenog za redukcije. Također različite funkcionalne skupine prisutne kod tri rGO primjera dobivenih sintezom dokazuju različitosti metoda redukcije. SEM metoda provedena je za uzorke dobivene hidrotermalnim postupcima, a prikazala je karakteristično raslojavanje kod ispitivanih uzoraka. Hidrotermalnom metodom u lužnatim uvjetima na površini uzorka vidljive su nečistoće NaCO3 u obliku kristalića te površina malog stupnja naboranosti. Analizom mikrografije rGO dobivenog hidrotermalnom redukcijom uz TAA ustanovljen je vrlo velik stupanj naboranosti produkta te prisutnost tankih listova rGO. Usporedbom s eksperimentalnim rezultatima i podacima preuzetim iz literature, hidrotermalna redukcija uz TAA rezultirala je produktom potencijalno zanimljivih karakteristika za primjenu u fotokatalizi. Prednost ove sinteze je uporaba reaktanata manje štetnosti i reaktivnosti u odnosu na hidrazin.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this work was to carry out the reduction of graphene oxide (GO) to reduced graphene oxide (rGO). Three different methods were used, chemical reduction with hydrazine method and two hydrothermal reduction methods: in alkaline conditions and with thioacetamide (TAA). The characterization of the obtained reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was carried out by two methods, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and electron microscopy. The FTIR method showed a clear difference between graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide. The reduced graphene oxide samples were containing significantly fewer functional groups than the graphene oxide sample used for the reductions. Also, the different functional groups present in the three rGO examples obtained by the synthesis prove the diversity of the reduction methods. SEM analysis was performed for samples obtained by hydrothermal processes and showed characteristic stratification. The hydrothermal method under alkaline conditions revealed crystalline NaCO3 impurities on the sample surface and a small degree of wrinkling. Micrographs of rGO obtained by TAA reduction revealed very thin layers of rGO and a high degree of wrinkling. Comparing literature and experimentally obtained results, the product obtained by hydrothermal reduction with TAA resulted with a rGO of potentially interesting characteristics for photocatalysis applications. The advantage of this synthesis is the application of less harmful and reactive reactants than hydrazine.
