Abstract

Intenzivan rast populacije uz nekontroliran industrijski rast rezultirali su povećanom potrošnjom energije uz previsoku emisiju toksičnih tvari koje uništavaju ekosustav. Brzi razvoj globalne ekonomije i pridružena industrijalizacija tijekom prošlog stoljeća doveli su do ozbiljnih zabrinutosti u pogledu globalne potrošnje resursa. Globalno onečišćenje okoliša u tolikoj je mjeri alarmantno da će, ako se hitno ne poduzmu odgovarajući potezi, ljudsko zdravlje s vremenom postati sve ugroženije. Kao ambiciozna alternativa korištenju konvencionalnih fosilnih goriva, nameće se korištenje vodika, a jedan od perspektivnijih načina njegova dobivanje je fotokatalitičkim putem. Provođenje takvog procesa zahtjeva korištenje obnovljivih izvora energije, Sunčevo zračenje i vode, uz stvaranje netoksičnih, bezopasnih produkata. Jedan od najviše istraživanih fotokatalitičkih materijala je TiO2, kojeg karakterizira velika energija zabranjene zone (Eg) (oko 3,2 eV), a koja mu omogućuje pobudu isključivo zračenjem UV dijela Sunčeva spektra. Ovaj diplomski rad se bavi sintezom i karakterizacijom nanokompozitnih materijala: TiO2, odnosno SnS2, te kompozita TiO2-SnS2 i TiO2-SnS2-RGO s različitim udjelima GO-RGO. Provedene su karakterizacija i fizikalno-kemijska svojstva nanokompozitnih materijala. Morfološka svojstva ispitana su skenirajućom elektronskom mikroskopijom (SEM). FTIR i XRD su korišteni za prikaz struktura fotokatalizatora. Toplinska, odnosno optička svojstva određena su pomoću TGA i UV-Vis spektroskopije. Na temelju rezultata spomenutih tehnika, potvrđena je kemijska povezanost između TiO2, SnS2 sa RGO u ternarnim kompozitima (TSG). Na temelju izračuna maksimalne valne duljine, pokazalo se kako TSG apsorbira u području vidljive svjetlosti.

Abstract (english)

Intensive growth of population along with uncontrolled industrial growth have resulted in the increased energy consumption with excessive emissions of toxic substances that destroy the ecosystem. The rapid developments of the global economy and the associated industrialization over the past century have led to serious concerns regarding global resource consumption. Global environmental pollution is so alarming that, unless appropriate action is taken urgently, human health will become increasingly endangered over time. As an ambitious alternative to the use of conventional fossil fuels, the use of hydrogen is imposed, and one of the most perspective ways to achieve hydrogen production is by process of photocatalysis. Carrying out such a process requires the use of renewable energy sources, the Solar irradiation and water, with the creation of non-toxic, harmless products. One of the most investigated photocatalytic materials is TiO2, characterized by a high band gap energy (Eg) (about 3.2 eV), which allows it to be excited exclusively by the radiation of the UV portion of the solar spectrum. This work deals with the synthesis and characterization of nanocomposite materials: TiO2, SnS2, and composites TiO2-SnS2 and TiO2-SnS2-RGO with different proportions of GO-RGO. Characterization and physicochemical properties of nanocomposite materials were performed. Morphological properties were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). FTIR and XRD were used to show the photocatalyst structures. Thermal and optical properties were determined by TGA and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Based on the results of the mentioned techniques, the chemical bonds between TiO2, SnS2 with RGO in ternary composites (TSG) was confirmed. Based on the calculation of the maximum wavelength, it was shown that TSG is absorbs in the visible light range.
