Abstract

Svakodnevica 21. stoljeća sastoji se od kontinuiranih upozorenja vezanih za onečišćenje okoliša i polagan, ali siguran dolazak globalnog zatopljenja. Jedan od većih problema povezanih s navedenim je transport koji uvelike doprinosi gomilanju stakleničkih plinova. Ograničeni izvor, visoke cijene i nestabilnost nabavnog lanca nafte, kao i problematičan utjecaj na okoliš doveli su do novih zakona koji su potaknuli istraživanja i pronalazak alternativnih goriva da se zadovolji sve veća potražnja. Fischer-Tropschova sinteza predstavlja tehnologiju 20. stoljeća koja se kontinuirano oživljava i pruža sintetska goriva i kemikalije iz ugljena, biomase i prirodnog plina. U današnje vrijeme FT sinteza postaje sve privlačnija alternativna tehnologija proizvodnje goriva u usporedbi s gorivom iz nafte zbog ekološke prihvatljivosti, odnosno mogućnosti recikliranja otpada iz agrikulture, te smanjene emisije stakleničkih plinova (CO, CO2, SO2, NOx), odsutnosti sumpora, dušika i čestica čađe, veće efikasnosti te već postojeće kompatibilnosti s dizelskim motorima. Ovaj se rad sastoji od detaljnog opisa Fischer-Tropschovog procesa, kemijskih reakcija sinteze, katalizatora i reaktora u uporabi te opisa procesnih koraka kako se iz ulazne sirovine dobiva krajnji produkt – gorivo.

Abstract (english)

Everyday life in the 21st century is consumed by continuous warnings about envirnomental pollution and slow, but certain arrival of global warming. One of the biggest problems connected to the above is transport which greatly contributes to the accumulation of greenhouse gasses. Limited sources, high prices and the instability of the oil supply chain together with the problematic influence on the environment brought about new laws that encouraged research and discovery of new fuel sources that could meet the growing demand. Fischer-Tropsch synthesis presents 20th century technology that is continuously revived and offers synthetic fuels and chemicals from coal, biomass and natural gas. Nowdays FT synthesis becomes a more attractive alternative of fuel production compared to oil industry due to its envirnomental friendliness, possibility of recycling wood and agricultural waste and fewer greenhouse gas emission (CO, CO2, SO2, NOx), absence of sulfur, nitrogen and soot combined with increased efficiency and existing compatibility to diesel engines. This paper consists of detailed description od Fischer-Tropsch process, chemical reactions, catalysts and reactors in use and the process steps of converting feed to fuel.
