Abstract

Ovaj rad predstavlja pregled različitih tipova sonokemijskih reaktora, njihovih svojstava te procesa za koje se oni uspješno koriste, uglavnom u laboratorijskim razmjerima. Opisuje se pojava kavitacije te njen utjecaj na rad reaktora. Također su predstavljene smjernice za optimalan izbor važnih radnih parametara (frekvencija i intenzitet zračenja, temperatura i fizikalno-kemijska svojstva tekućine), kao i geometrijskih parametara (vrsta konfiguracije reaktora i broj / položaj pretvornika) kako bi se maksimizirala učinkovitost procesa. Razmotrena su i ključna područja za budući rad kako bi se uspješna tehnika u laboratorijskim razmjerima/pilot postrojenjima pretvorila u komercijalnu tehnologiju. Sveukupno, utvrđeno je da postoji ogroman potencijal za poboljšanje procesa primjenom sonokemijskih reaktora što vodi ''zelenijoj'' obradi i ekonomskim koristima.

Abstract (english)

This work presents an overview of different types of sonochemical reactors, their features and processes in which they are used, though mostly at laboratory scales. The cavitation phenomena and its influence on the operation of the reactor are described. Guidelines have also been presented for optimum selection of the important operating parameters (frequency and intensity of irradiation, temperature and physicochemical properties of the fluid) as well as geometric parameters (type of reactor configurations and number / position of transducer) so as to maximize the process efficiency. The key areas for future work so as to transform the successful tehnique at laboratory / pilot scale into commercial technology have also been discussed . Overall, it has been established that there is immense potential for sonochemical reactors for process intensification leading to "greener" processing and economic benefits.
