Abstract

Upotreba pesticida i farmaceutika s vremenom postaje sve veća. Pesticidi se koriste u velikim količinama u poljoprivrednoj industriji, a njihovo prekomjerno korištenje rezultira pojavom u površinskim, podzemnim i pitkim vodama. S druge strane farmaceutici se svakodnevno koriste, a nemetabolizirane aktivne komponente izlučuju se i završavaju u vodama. To dovodi do povećanih koncentracija pesticida i farmaceutika u vodi za piće, što kroz duži vremenski period dokazano uzrokuje razne bolesti kod ljudi. Pesticidi, a pogotovo farmaceutici se teže uklanjaju konvencionalnim procesima za obradu otpadnih voda; stoga je potrebno razviti nove metode koje bih odradile tu zadaću. Napredne oksidacijske tehnike pokazale su se vrlo uspješnima u obavljanju te zadaće, pa je interes za njihovom primjenom naglo porastao u svijetu. U ovom radu baviti ćemo se uklanjanjem sedam pesticida (alaklor, atrazin, cibutrin, diuron, izorpoturon, klorfenvinfos i simazin) i osam farmaceutika (17-α etinilestradiol, 17-β estradiol, azitromicin, deksametazon, diklofenak, eritromicin, karbamazepin i oksitetraciklin) korištenjem UV/H2O2 i UV/PS naprednih oksidacijskih procesa.

Abstract (english)

Usage of pesticides and pharmaceuticals is growing bigger and bigger. Pesticides are used in large quantities in agricultural industry, and their increased use resulted with their appearance in surface, underground and drinking water. On the other hand, pharmaceuticals are used on a daily basis: their non-metabolized active components are excreted from organisms and they end up in water. This leads to increased concentrations of pesticides and pharmaceuticals in drinking water, which has been proven to cause various diseases over a long period of time. Conventional wastewater treatment plants are not so efficient in removal of pesticides and pharmaceuticals. Therefore, new methods need to be developed for the removal. Advanced oxidation techniques have proven to be very successful in accomplishing this task and, accordingly, the interest for their application rapidly grows all over the world. In this work we performed removal of seven pesticides (alachlor, atrazine, cybutrin, diuron, isoproturon, chlorphenvinfos and simazine) and eight pharmaceuticals (17-α ethinylestradiol, 17-β estradiol, azithromycin, dexamethasone, diclofenac, erythromycin, carbamazepine and oxytetracycline) using UV/H2O2 and UV/PS advanced oxidation processes.
