Abstract

Tema ovog diplomskog rada bila je projektiranje destilacijskih kolona s razdjelnom stijenkom za tri proizvoda. U klasičnoj izvedbi destilacijskih kolona, za dobivanje N proizoda potrebno je imati N – 1 destilacijskih kolona, dok je kolona s razdjelnom stijenkom (KRS) u teoriji moguće dobiti oštro razdvajanje bilo kojeg broja proizvoda u jednom plaštu, uz ukupnu potrošnju energije jednaku onoj za provedbu najteže binarne separacije. Radi toga je KRS jedinstvena tehnologija intenzifikacije procesa, jer uz uštede u potrošnji energije, vodi i do smanjenih investicijskih toškova. U ovom radu ispitana je isplativost zamjene destilacijskog niza za separaciju katalitičkog reformata na tri proizvoda iz INA d.d. RN Rijeka kolonom s razdjelnom stijenkom (KRS). Model postojećeg stanja, te projektiranje odgovarajućeg KRS-a provedeno je pomoću programskog sustava ChemCAD. Projektiranje KRS-a započinje približnim proračunom grafičkom metodom Vmin dijagrama pomoću kojeg se dobivaju preliminarne vrijednosti za detaljan proračun. Konvergirani detaljan proračun služi za projektiranje i dimenzioniranje kolone koje uključuje jednadžbe iz Delft modela za procjenu pada tlaka strukturiranih punila i Rix – Olujić modela za procjenu pada tlaka unutarnje opreme kolone. Nakon dimenzioniranja slijede procjene koštanja KRS-a te njegova usporedba sa stvarnim, već postojećim, sustavom za frakcioniranje katalitičkog reformata. Ovim diplomskim radom je utvrđeno da je u svim aspektima troškova, pogonskim, investicijskim i ukupnim godišnjim troškovima (Total Annualised Costs – TAC), KRS uistinu isplativija tehnologija nego klasična izvedba direktnog niza i to za oko 50 %.

Abstract (english)

Subject of this master thesis is the design of three-product dividing wall columns. In conventional distillation sequences, for obtaining N products, N – 1 distillation columns are required. Dividing wall column (DWC) is an advanced distillation process, that is in theory capable of performing sharp split of any number of products within single shell, using energy required to perform most difficult binary split. In that regard, DWC is a truly unique process intensification technology, because energy and capital costs are simultaneously reduced. In this work, feasibility of replacing the existing direct sequence for separation of catalytic reformate into three products in INA Refinery in Rijeka is determined. Existing process model and design of an equivalend DWC was done using ChemCAD. DWC design begins with a short-cut graphical method called Vmin diagram, which gives initial values needed for detailed simulation of the DWC. Converged detailed simulation is the basis for designing and dimensioning the DWC, based on Delft model for predicting pressure drop of structured packings, as well as Rix – Olujić model for pressure drop estimation of column internals. Dimensioning is followed by cost estimation and comparison with the existing sequence for catalytic reformate fractionation. This thesis confirmed that in all the aspects of costs, which include operating and investment costs, as well as totalised annualised costs (TAC), DWC was more economical compared to conventional direct configuration for around 50 %.
