Abstract

U ovom radu proučavana je kaskadna reakcija koja se sastoji od oksidacije alkohola 3-klor-1,2-propandiola i aldolne adicije dihidroksiacetona na produkt oksidacije. Prvi stupanj je kemijska oksidacija alkohola do aldehida pomoću jodoksibenzojeve kiseline , a drugi stupanj aldolna adicija katalizirana enzimom D-fruktoza-6-fosfat aldolazom da bi se dobio odgovarajući aldolni produkt. Kemijskom oksidacijom uspješno je dobiven aldehid, a aldolni produkt se nije uspio sintetizirati. Željeni aldolni produkt je mogući prekursor za iminošećere te je stoga ova reakcija od znanstvenog interesa.

Abstract (english)

The paper describes the oxidation of the alcohol 3-chloro-1,2-propanediol to the aldol product. The oxidation was carried out by a two stage cascade reaction. The first stage is the chemical oxidation of the alcohol to the aldehyde by iodoxybenzoic acid (IBX), and the second stage is the aldol addition of dihydroxyacetone (DHA) to the resulting aldehyde. The second stage is enzymatic oxidation because it is catalyzed by the enzyme D-fructose-6-phosphate aldolase (FSA) to give the corresponding aldol product. Aldehyde was successfully obtained by chemical oxidation, however the aldol product could not be synthesized. The desired aldol product is a precursor for iminosugars and therefore this reaction is of scientific interest.
