Abstract

Sumporovodik jedan je od čestih zagađivača iz ispušnih plinova u postrojenjima kojeg je potrebno ukloniti prije ispuštanja u okolinu. Procesi desulfurizacije odnosno uklanjanja sumporovih spojeva iz ispušnih plinova provode se zbog usklađenosti s ekološkim zahtjevima, ali i zbog sprječavanja korozije i abrazije turbina i druge procesne opreme. Ovisno o kemijskom spoju koji je potrebno ukloniti, odabire se odgovarajući sorbens, a najčešće su korišteni metalni oksidi. U ovom su radu karakterizirani uzorci ZnO-Al2O3-TiO2 različitog sastava, sintetizirani sol-gel metodom te je ispitana njihova primjenjivost kao materijala za sorbens tijekom visoko temperaturne plinske desulfurizacije (engl. HTGD). DTA/TG metodom ispitana je termička evolucija gelova, a uz pomoć prekida termičke analize te XRD i FTIR mjerenjima, asignirani su termički efekti. Kristalni sastav uzoraka obrađenih na potencijalnoj temperaturi primjene utvrđen je XRD analizom, kao i veličina kristalita. Budući da cinkit i Zn-spinelne faze presudno utječu na učinkovitost sorbensa, za daljnju analizu odabrani su uzorci s najviše spomenutih faza. BET analizom određene su specifične površine, koje se dosegnule vrijednosti preko 100 m^2g^-1. Kao optimalna temperatura obrade odabrana je temperatura od 500 °C. Na uzorcima termički obrađenim na toj temperaturi uvid u morfologiju, mikrostrukturu i teksturu dobiven je pomoću SEM-a.

Abstract (english)

Hydrogen sulfide as one of the common pollutants present in hot coal gases, needs to
be removed before release in the environment. The processes of desulfurization, i.e. removing
sulfide from hot coal gases, is carried out in order to comply with ecological requirements, but
also to protect and prevent corrosion and excess abrasion of the turbines and related
equipment. Depending on the compound specific sorbent are chosen, whereas the most
common are metal oxides. In this work ZnO-Al2O3-TiO2 samples in different molar were
synthetized by sol-gel method and characterized on their applicability as a material for sorbent
during the HTGD process.
The thermic evolution of gels is tested by the DTA/TG method, and with the help of
thermic analysis as well as XRD and FTIR measurements, thermic evolution was assigned.
The crystal composition of the samples was acquired by XRD analysis and the size of the
crystallite was determined thereby.
Since zincite and Zn-spinel phases are responsible for the sorbent efficiency, thus the
samples with the most aforementioned phases are chosen for further analysis. By BET
analysis specific surface areas have been determined, reaching values over 100 m^2g^-1.
Temperature of 500 °C is chosen as the optimal temperature of the process. For samples
thermally treated at that temperature, morphology, microstructure and texture of the samples
are determined using SEM.
