Abstract

U ovom radu proučena i prezentirana je akustoforeza, metoda separacije čestica iz fluida. Akustoforeza je dio akustofluidike, odnosno skupa metoda u kojima se na fluidne sustave djeluje UZV valovima. Pregledom fizikalnih zakona ponašanja fluida na mikroskali i usporedbom s ponašanjem na makroskali prikazan je osnovni uvid u shvaćanje ovakvih sustava sa strane mehanike fluida, a potom i kako se isti ponašaju pod djelovanjem UZV valova. Prikazani su osnovni dizajni sustava za akustoforezu i njihovi sastavni dijelovi te neke smjernice prilikom njihovog odabira. Potom su proučena tri zasebna slučaja u kojima se akustoforeza eksperimentalno koristila za separaciju čestica, a to su određivanje hematokrita, koncentriranje bakterija u svrhu otkrivanja sepse te koncentriranje stanica raka.

Abstract (english)

In this work, acoustophoresis, a method of separating particles from fluids, is studied and presented. Acoustophoresis is a part of acoustofluidics, set of methods in which US waves influence fluid systems. An overview of the physical laws of fluid behavior on the microscale and a comparison with the behavior on the macroscale provides a basic insight into understanding of such systems by fluid mechanics with addition of closer look at how they behave under the action of ultrasonic waves. Basic designs of acoustophoresis systems and their components are presented, as well as some guidelines for their selection. Three separate cases in which acoustophoresis was experimentally used to separate particles were then studied: hematocrit determination, bacterial concentration to detect sepsis, and cancer cell concentration.
