Abstract

Cilj ovog rada je primijeniti teoriju sedimentacije na tretiranje otpadnih voda. Na početku rada upoznajemo se s osnovnim procesom obrade otpadnih voda te detaljnije s dijelom procesa koji se odnosi na gravitacijsku sedimentaciju. Dan je opis sedimentacijskih bazena koji se koriste u tu svrhu. U nastavku su objašnjeni režimi taloženja i zakoni kojima se opisuje gibanje čestica u pojedinom režimu. Teorijski dio povezan je s dizajnom sedimentacijskog bazena. Opisuje se važnost sedimentacijskog testa za dimenzioniranje sedimentacijskih bazena. Sedimentacijski test je i eksperimentalno proveden pomoću suspenzije koja se sastoji od kalcijevog karbonata u prahu i vode. Iz rezultata dobivenih testom, jasno se vidi kako se s povećanjem koncentracije suspenzije smanjuje brzina taloženja.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this paper is to apply the sedimentation theory in wastewater treatment. At the beginning of the work we are introduces to the basic process of wastewater treatment and in more detail with gravitational sedimentation. A description of the sedimentation basins used for these purpose is given. Types of settling and the laws describing the motion of particles in a particular type are explained next. The connection of the theoretical part to the design of the sedimentation basin is given. The importance of the sedimentation test for sizing sedimentation basins is described. The sedimentation test was also performed experimentally using a suspension consisting of powdered calcium carbonate and water. From the results obtained by the test, we can clearly see that the deposition rate decreases with increasing suspension concentration.
