Abstract

Farmaceutski proizvodi čine dio velike skupine zagađivala koja dospijevaju u okoliš. Potencijalni rizik kojeg ti proizvodi predstavljaju još uvijek je predmet rasprave, međutim, sve veća proizvodnja i potrošnja farmaceutika na svjetskoj razini vrijedna je daljnjeg razmatranja i raspravljanja o njihovom stvarnom utjecaju, čemu svjedoče i sve brojnija istraživanja na tom području. Brojne tehnologije, koje uključuju fizikalne, kemijske, biološke i termičke procese, u velikoj mjeri su istražene kako bi se pronašlo ekonomski i ekološki prihvatljivo rješenje za uklanjanje farmaceutika koji, preko okoliša, dospijevaju u otpadne vode. Umjesto konvencionalno predloženih metoda poput sedimentacije, filtracije, biorazgradnje ili ozonacije, primjenjivost sorpcijskih procesa u tu je svrhu jednostavnija i jeftinija. U ovom radu prikazani su rezultati promatranja sorpcije farmaceutika imatiniba na staklenu mrežicu s imobiliziranim titanijevim dioksidom (TiO2) i ugljikovim nanocijevima pod različitim eksperimentalnim uvjetima. Promatran je utjecaj kinetike (vrijeme kontakta s mrežicom), pH vrijednosti, temperature, ionske jakosti i mase mrežica na sorpciju navedenog farmaceutika, te su rezultati prikazani pomoću linearne, Langmuirove i Freundlichove sorpcijske izoterme. Prema dobivenim vrijednostima regresijskih koeficijenata (R^2) može se zaključiti da linearne izoterme najbolje opisuju adsorpcijsko ponašanje ispitivanog farmaceutika na TiO2/CNT mrežice (R^2> 0,99). Vrijednosti koeficijenta sorpcije (Kd) ukazuju na povećani trend sorpcije imatiniba na mrežice s povećanjem ispitivanih parametara (kinetike, pH, temperature, ionske jakosti i mase katalizatora).

Abstract (english)

Pharmaceutical products form part of a large group of contaminants that mature into the environment. The potential risk presented by these products is still the subject of discussion, however, the increasing global production and consumption of pharmaceutical products is a valuable consideration and discussion of their real influence, as evidenced by the growing research in this field. Many technologies, including physical, chemical, biological and thermal processes, have been extensively investigated in order to find an economically and environmentally friendly solution to eliminate pharmaceutical products which, through the environment, are due to waste water. Instead of conventional methods proposed such as sedimentation, filtration, biodegradation, or ozone, the applicability of sorption processes is simpler and less costly for that purpose. This work shows the results of the sorption of pharmaceutical imatinib on fiberglass mesh with titanium dioxide (TiO2) and carbon nanotubes under different experimental conditions. Observed is the impact of the kinetics (mesh contact time), pH, temperatures, ion intensity and mesh mass on the sorption of this pharmaceutical, and these results are represented by linear, Langmuir and Freundlich sorption isotherms. According to the values obtained by the regression coefficients (R^2), it can be concluded that the linear isotherms best describe the adsorption behaviour of the investigational pharmaceutical products on the meshes (R^2 > 0,99). The values of sorption coefficient (Kd) indicate an increased trend of the sorption of imatinib on TiO2/CNT mesh with an increase in the test parameters (kinetics, pH, temperatures, ionic and catalyst masses).
