Abstract

Djelotvornost izmjenjivača topline opada s vremenom te ga je nakon nekog vremena potrebno servisirati, tj. mehanički ili kemijski očistiti od nakupljenih naslaga. Djelotvornost počinje padati nakon nekog vremena zbog nastajanja naslaga koje djeluju kao otpor prijenosu topline (tzv. fouling). Kako bi se mogao organizirati rad postrojenja i odrediti termin servisiranja nužno je poznavati trenutno stanje promatranog izmjenjivača topline, odnosno potrebno je kontinuirano pratiti nastajanje naslaga na stijenkama. Mehanizam nastajanja naslaga je uglavnom nepoznat i nedovoljno istražen stoga se pribjegava empirijskim modelima za procjenu nastajanja naslaga. Jedan od modela koji se pokazao primjenjiv, ali još uvijek nedovoljno istražen za praćenje nastajanja naslaga je model neuronskih mreža iz područja umjetne inteligencije. U ovome radu primijenjen je model neuronskih mreža za procjenu stanja industrijskog izmjenjivača topline iz postrojenja u naftno petrokemijskoj industriji. Kako su procesni uvjeti u industrijskim procesima izrazito nestacionarni i nelinearni, ispitivana je primjena rekurentnih (povratnih) neuronskih mreža. Statistički kriteriji vrednovanja kvalitete modela kao i dobiveni grafički rezultati ukazuju na to da se rekurentne neuronske mreže mogu koristiti za kontinuirano praćenje nastajanja naslaga u izmjenjivačima topline.

Abstract (english)

Heat exchanger's efficiency diminishes over time, hence there is a need for its maintenance in order to remove the deposits using mechanical and/or chemical procedures. Efficiency starts to decline due to deposit formation on the surface of the exchanger which acts like heat transfer resistance. In order to schedule the working time of such plant, there is a need for heat exchanger's diagnostics, in other words there is a need for continuous monitoring of deposit formation. The mechanism of deposit formation is yet quite unknown, therefore, use of empirical models is unavoidable. In this Master's thesis, neural network model for monitoring the state of the heat exchanger in petrochemical industry is used. Due to non-stationary and nonlinear conditions in industrial processes, use of the recurrent neural network has been tested. Statistical criterion of the model’s quality, as well as given graphical results show that recurrent neural network can be used for continuous monitoring of deposit formation in heat exchangers.
