Abstract

Svojstva višefaznih sustava kao što su polimeri punjeni anorganskim česticama ovise o sastavu, morfologiji i svojstvima pojedinih konstituenata kao i o prirodi interakcija (adheziji) na međupovršini polimer/punilo. U ovom radu cilj je bio istražiti utjecaj neobrađenog Aerosil 200 i heksadecil silanom obrađenog, R816 nanopunila, amorfne pirogene silike na svojstva kompozita s polistirenom visoke udarne žilavosti (HIPS). HIPS+nano-SiO2 kompoziti pripravljeni su s 0,5; 1; 3 i 5% masenih udjela punila u Brabender gnjetilici zamješavanjem u talini. Utjecaj dodatka neobrađenog i silanom obrađenog nano-silika punila na međupovršinske interakcije, toplinska i mehanička svojstva HIPS/A200 i HIPS/R816 kompozita istražen je primjenom tehnike kontaktnog kuta, diferencijalne pretražne kalorimetrije (DSC) i rasteznog ispitivanja. Svojstva međupovršine u kompozitu predviđena su na osnovi proračunatih vrijednosti parametara adhezije: termodinamičkog rada adhezije, slobodne energije međupovršine i koeficijenta razlijevanja.

Abstract (english)

The properties of multiphase systems such as polymers filled with inorganic particles depend on the composition, morphology, and properties of the individual constituents, as well as on the nature of the interaction (adhesion) at the polymer/filler interface. In this work, the influence of untreated Aerosil 200 and hexadecylsilane-treated Aerosil R816 nano-filler, amorphous fumed silica, on the properties of high impact polystyrene (HIPS) composites was investigated. HIPS+nano-SiO2 composites were prepared with 0.5; 1; 3 and 5 % mass fraction of filler by the Brabender kneading by melt mixing. The influence of the addition of untreated and silane-treated nano-silica fillers on the interfacial interactions, thermal and mechanical properties of HIPS/A200 and HIPS/R816 composites was investigated using the contact angle technique, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and tensile tests.
The properties of the interface in the composition are predicted based on the calculated values of the adhesion parameters: thermodynamic work of adhesion, free energy of the interface and the spreading coefficient.
