Abstract

Akrilonitril/butadien/stiren (ABS) je jedan od najčešće korištenih polimera za 3D tisak proizvoda. Cilj ovog rada bio je optimirati svojstva polimernih materijala na osnovi ABS-a za proizvodnju mikroreaktora navedenom tehnologijom. U tu su svrhu pripremljene mješavine ABS-a s polietilenom visoke (PE-HD) i polietilenom niske gustoće (PE-LD) u različitim omjerima. Osim navedenih, ispitane su i mješavine sa silikom te titanijevim dioksidom kao punilom kako bi se dobio uvid u njihov utjecaj kao kompatibilizatora između nemješljivih polimera. Uzorci su pripremljeni umješavanjem u ekstruderu te su im određena mehanička svojstva rasteznim ispitivanjem. Mješavinama s najboljim mehaničkim svojstvima nadalje su ispitane toplinske karakteristike razlikovnom pretražnom kalorimetrijom te morfologija površine pomoću pretražnog elektronskog mikroskopa. Na temelju dobivenih rezultata zaključeno je kako dodatak polietilena ABS-u znatno mijenja njegova mehanička svojstva, prvenstveno smanjuje visoku vlačnu čvrstoću. Dodatak punila kod mješavina uglavnom djeluje povoljno na mehanička svojstva, a najbolje su rezultati pokazale mješavine s dodanih 5 % PE-LD-a, odnosno PE-HD-a. Ispitivanjem toplinskih svojstava i morfologije površine potvrđeno je kako korišteni polimeri stvaraju nemješljive sustave.

Abstract (english)

Acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene (ABS) is one of the most commonly used polymers for 3D printing of products. The aim of this paper was to optimize the properties of ABS based polymeric materials for 3D printing of microreactors. For this purpose, high-density polyethylene (PE-HD) and low density polyethylene (PE-LD) mixtures with ABS were prepared in different ratios. In addition to these, silica and titanium dioxide as fillers were also tested to provide an insight into their influence as a compatibilizer in blending these immiscible polymers. The samples were prepared by melt mixing in Brabender plasticoder and their mechanical properties were determined by a tensile test. The selected mixtures were further tested for thermal properties by differential scanning calorimetry and surface morphology using a scanning electron microscope. Based on the obtained results, it was concluded that the addition of polyethylene to ABS significantly alters its mechanical properties, primarily reducing the high tensile strength. The addition of filler to the blend mostly works favorably on the mechanical properties, and the best results were achieved by the blends in which 5 % PE-LD or PE-HD were added. By examining the thermal properties and surface morphology, it was confirmed that the polymers create imiscible blends.
