Abstract

Smilje (Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don) je ljekovita i aromatična biljka. Zbog povećane primjene u parfemskoj industriji dobilo je veliku pažnju, što je rezultiralo sve većim interesom za njegovo sakupljanje u prirodi. Unazad nekoliko godina, u našim krajevima uzgaja se u priobalnim dijelovima. Uzorak smilja uzgojenog u Hrvatskoj izoliran je destilacijom vodenom parom. Osam frakcija uzimano je svakih 15 minuta. Također, destiliran je i uzorak istog biljnog materijala bez frakcioniranja. Kemijski sastav analiziran je plinskom kromatografijom sa spektrometrom masa (GC-MS). Frakcije su imale različiti kemijski sastav. Identificirano je oko 90% komponenata. Dobiveni rezultati ukazuju da se sastav eteričnog ulja razlikuje tijekom destilacije. Početne frakcije sadržavale su veći udio monoterpena, dok su kasnije frakcije sadržavale više seskviterpena. Udio neril acetata nije se značajno mijenjao tijekom destilacije. Iz rezultata se može zaključiti da sastav eteričnog ulja ovisi o vremenu destilacije i da ga je na taj način moguće mijenjati.

Abstract (english)

Immortelle (Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don) is a medicinal and aromatic plant. Due to increased application in the perfume industry, it has received a lot of attention, which has resulted in increasing interest in its collection in nature. In the last few years it has been cultivated in the coastal parts of Croatia. A sample of immortelle cultivated in Croatia was isolated by steam distillation. Eight fractions were taken every 15 minutes. A sample of the same plant material without fractionation was also distilled. The chemical composition was analyzed by gas chromatography with mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The fractions had different chemical composition. About 90% of the components have been identified. The results obtained indicate that the composition of the essential oil differs during distillation. Initial fractions contained a higher amount of monoterpenes, whereas later fractions contained more sesquiterpenes. The amount of neryl acetate did not change significantly during distillation. From the results it can be concluded that the composition of the essential oil depends on the time of distillation and can thus be varied.
