Abstract

Konvencionalni fluidi za prijenos topline imaju relativno nizak stupanj učinkovitosti zbog čega je došlo do razvoja nanofluida kao novih radnih medija za prijenos topline. Međutim, kako bi se riješio problem visoke cijene i toksičnosti hlapljivih organskih otapala došlo je do razvoja nove generacije otapala pod nazivom eutektičke smjese koje su jeftine, biorazgradive i sigurne za ljudsko zdravlje i okoliš. Cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti stabilnost suspenzija dobivenih raspršivanjem nanočestica Al2O3, SiO2 i ugljikovih nanocjevčica (CNT) u četiri vrste eutektičkih otapala baziranih na kvartarnoj amonijevoj soli kolin klorida. Istraživanje stabilnosti provodilo se vizualnim promatranjem, fotografiranjem i vođenjem bilješki za pripremljene nanosuspenzije te određivanjem njihove gustoće, reološkog ponašanja i viskoznosti. Promatrane nanosuspenzije pokazale su stabilnost u trajanju od 6 do 27 dana ovisno o korištenom eutektičkom otapalu. Sve promatrane nanosuspenzije pokazale su svojstva Newtonskih fluida s povećanjem gustoće i viskoznosti u odnosu na bazno eutektičko otapalo.

Abstract (english)

Due to the relatively low efficiency of conventional heat transfer fluids, nanofluids have been developed as a new working medium for heat transfer. However, in order to solve the problem of high cost and toxicity of volatile organic solvents, a new generation of solvents known as eutectic mixtures has been developed. Eutectic mixtures are inexpensive, biodegradable and safe for human health and the environment. The aim of this study was to investigate the stability of the suspensions prepared by dispersing nanoparticles of Al2O3, SiO2 and carbon nanotubes in four types of eutectic solvents based on quaternary ammonium salt, choline chloride. The study of stability was conducted by visual observation, photography and taking notes of the prepared nanosuspensions and by determining their density, rheology and viscosity. The observed nanosuspensions have showed stability that was lasting from 6 to 27 days, depending on the used eutectic solvent. All of the observed nanosuspensions have shown Newtonian fluid properties with increased density and viscosity when compared to the base eutectic solvent.
